You can NOT ‘supplement’ your way out of a poor diet and lifestyle.
In theory a fresh, wholefood, seasonal diet should provide all the necessary nutrients and foundation for optimum health. In reality, I see a large number of patients who eat exceptionally well, yet continue to suffer from low energy, allergy, poor immunity, hormone dysregulation or other signs of inflammation. Possibly they are not absorbing nutrients from their food or alternatively their demand for certain nutrients may not be being met by their diet alone. Past infections, biochemical individuality, pharmaceuticals, poor gut health, stress and lack of sleep may be increasing their nutritional requirements.
In such cases supplements may be prescribed and can provide a valuable tool to restoring optimum health and function.
